We've been coming to San Miguel de Allende since the mid 90s and although it's grown in population it has managed to retain a lot of its historical qualities and charm. Some will say it's gotten more and more expensive over the years, but the reality is this is an issue world wide. Having said that, San Miguel has a variety of options when it comes to rental expenses. There's luxury, mid-range living and budget living. The same applied to every day living when it comes to going out to eat or shopping for food and housewares. Transportation options vary from Uber, to local taxis, private taxis, shuttles and local buses most common with the locals. There's also several choices for transportation to and from the area airports, Mexico City and Guadalajara.
